Being an artist with an astounding career Buju Banton is also up for an award at the first annual Reggae Academy Awards put together by the newly formed Reggae Academy.
CE'CILE has been extremely busy the last year and her credentials reflect this fact. Recently Ce’Cile was nominated for the Best Solo Female Reggae Vocal for the song, “I'M WAITING” in Richie B’s Excellence in Music and Entertainment. She performed at the first ever Reggae Academy Award show and she’s nominated for an award with the upcoming IRAMA taking place in New York on May 4th. Right now Ce’Cile is gearing up for her next big single "RIDE OR DIE" on DangerZone’s JOURNEY Riddim. She shot a video featuring Jamaican actor PAUL CAMPBELL as the lead male role. Other songs buzzing for Ce’Cile include SEVEN DAYS produced by DJ Sparks and Resolution from SKATTA. Ce’Cile has been demonstrating a new side of versatility since the release of I’M WAITING last year on DangerZone’s JAMDOWN Riddim.
CHERINE ANDERSON is another female artist really putting in work. During 2007, she went to town with a level of dedication that resulted in several key singles including; “KINGSTON STATE OF MIND”, touring with Sly & Robbie, co-starring in TEMPO’s interactive TV drama CHOICES and more! Further, her song “Good Love” has received a Grammy nomination. This song was produced by Trinidad’s top soca producer; $hel $hock (Sheldon Benjamin) in conjunction with his own Fashozy Record label consisting of himself and partner J.
